Kindermusik Village is a class designed to provide families a special place for learning and connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement. Village will educate you about your baby’s unique development, and each rich class experience fills baby’s senses. We’ll hammock, dance, explore drums, snuggle during a lullaby, shake bells, play with puppets, and peek-a-boo with scarves.

The activities are full of developmentally appropriate movement and play that are a fun and special way to spend time with your baby. Village will bring you closer to your baby and enhance developmental growth in extraordinary ways.

	Units for Fall 2010: Zoom Buggy and Dream Pillow

		Did you know that all those airplane sounds you make with a spoon during feeding time actually help your baby learn language? We’ll show you how to combine movement and sounds during the active part of your child’s day to help him develop physical, social, cognitive, and emotional skills as well. We’ll also spend time in the quieter daily rituals, so your baby can learn to associate music with the feeling of being safe and secure in the world. Come sing, move, cuddle and rock in a way that brings you closer to your baby.


	At Home Materials:

		2 CD’s featuring the same delightful music from class, giving your baby the daily exposure to new and interesting patterns her mind needs to understand the patterns of language. 2 books written in the class theme, with bold shapes and nursery-rhyme words to develop early literacy skills and visual tracking 2 art banners to hang in baby’s room to help develop long-distance vision and promote literacy. 2 instruments for making music with your baby, and assist him in distinguishing specific sounds and developing self-expression.

Zoom Buggy! -- Swoosh, vroom, and clickety-clack your way through this delightful unit. Babies and adults will dance, sing, and play instruments to the theme of being on the go. Chug around the room to the song “Little Red Caboose,” hold on tightly while “Riding in the Buggy,” and dance your way to “Zoom-e-oh!” Engage in rituals and playful activities such as infant massage, lap bounces, exercise, and quiet time.

Home Materials: Colorful board book of different vehicles - Zoom Buggy, a Home CD of the songs heard in class, a set of Art Banners for the nursery wall that strengthens vision and promotes early literacy, and a Zoom Car baby instrument for music-making at home.

Dream Pillow -- This title alone brings images of rocking, cuddling, singing, and lulling to sleep. But leading up to sleepy time are many upbeat and playful activities. Babies and Adults will swirl to a dreamy cloud dance “Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland.” They’ll also play baby appropriate instruments to “Aiken Drum,” and “Sarasponda.” Favorite nursery rhymes like “Wee Willie Winkie,” and “Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling,” are sprinkled throughout the classes. It’s easy to weave many of the class songs and activities into your families’ daily routines.
