Kindermusik Village is a class designed to provide families a special place for learning and connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement. Village will educate you about your baby’s unique development, and each rich class experience fills baby’s senses. We’ll hammock, dance, explore drums, snuggle during a lullaby, shake bells, play with puppets, and peek-a-boo with scarves.

The activities are full of developmentally appropriate movement and play that are a fun and special way to spend time with your baby. Village will bring you closer to your baby and enhance developmental growth in extraordinary ways.

Units for Spring 2011:

Hickory, Dickory, Tickle and Bounce focuses on feeding Baby’s language development through the rhythms of familiar nursery rhymes. Lessons focus on steady beat, up & down, and the distinctive sounds of major, minor, and other modes.

The Rhythm of My Day is designed to help parents incorporate music into many of the daily routines in Baby’s life. Establishing these daily rituals helps babies and toddlers develop security and the confidence to become more independent, and to develop Baby’s sense of identity, cultural heritage, and family traditions. Lessons focus on diversity of sound, stop and go, syncopation, and the vocal pattern “Sol-Mi.”

At Home Materials:

  • 2 CD’s featuring the same delightful music from class, giving your baby the daily exposure to new and interesting patterns her mind needs to understand the patterns of language.
  • 2 books written in the class theme, with bold shapes and nursery-rhyme words to develop early literacy skills and visual tracking
  • 2 art banners to hang in baby’s room to help develop long-distance vision and promote literacy.
  • 2 instruments for making music with your baby, and assist him in distinguishing specific sounds and developing self-expression.

More Details:

Hickory, Dickory, Tickle, and Bounce -- Research shows the more you expose your baby to nursery rhymes and songs, the stronger those emerging language-learning skills will be. That's why these Mother Goose-like stories and rhymes are the main theme of this class. Plus, you'll develop research-proven communication strategies with your child through listening activities, speaking "parentese," and sign language.

Home Materials: CD of beautifully arranged nursery rhyme and songs from class, a rhyming picture board book - Hickory, Dickory, Tickle, and Bounce, a set of Art Banners, and an instrument for music-making at home.

The Rhythm of My Day -- This class will help you bring more rhythm and routine to your baby's day, as well as help develop lasting learning skills. We'll show you how and tell you why music can help your little one soothe into the day’s schedule and help build a strong body and mind network for learning. You can bring home those same stress-free play and relaxation techniques from class, and incorporate them into your daily routines.

Home Materials: CD of beautifully arranged songs from class, “The Rhythm of My Day,” a colorful picture board book with class themes, a set of Art Banners, and an instrument for music-making at home.
